The ECU won't read the O2 sensor for the first 3 minutes or so, so that's not the problem.
Might be the AMM or, maybe a small leak in one of the turbo duct boots somewhere between the turbo and the throttle body. Check the hose clamps on the boots for tightness and make sure that the PCV bayonet fitting is fully engaged in the plastic intake duct.
Along those lines, the boot that connects the plastic intake duct to the turbo on my '89 SPG was pretty brittle after almost 19 years of use and had a developed a small split at the turbo hose clamp. Replacing it made a big difference in drivability.
