I have several 900's with over 150k miles still running original injectors. and sold my 1987 with 386,000 miles and as the original and only owner to that point it had the same injectors all the time. Actually, other than to get more umph from a 900, I've *never* had to change an injector... just turned over 170,000 in the 87 900T in OC today too. Basically I'm betting something else.

If you haven't already do the usual suspect stuff, I'd run a *couple* of chevron techrolene cans thru the engine, one per half tank of gas, to make sure everyone is clean as a whistle. Change the Air filter. Make sure, and then check again, that you don't have any air leaks. What plug range are you running? Consider one heat range hotter in the 93 NA, it's a 2.1 right? Also, what thermostat are you running? again consider the hotter one, 89 vs 82. Sometimes too cool a combustion chamber won't let the gas burn completely.. Is your plug wire set good? is your coil putting out a good spark? is your rotor and cap new? If at idle you unplug an injector does the engine notice it? ie it slows or stumbles? Does it act about the same for each of the four injectors? that would be a good thing if so, it means each is working about the same.

Then move on to the O2 sensor and the AMM. If you and the PO used good gasoline getting well over 200K miles on the O2 sensor and the AMM should be easy. It's when you start having crap go through the system that things have to work too hard and get munged...
