That's really useful info imparting there.
If it's a roll pin, as he suggests, another smaller roll pin, or, as Zig suggests, what we'd call a pin punch.
I like that site's suggestion to press the pin out using a vise, and a socket on opposite side or something else with a hole in it, for the pin to go in.
Don't do the pressing or driving with a nail or a nail set, the taper of the tip will go down inside the rolled-up spring steel pin and tend to open the roll pin farther, flaring it out and preventing it from budging.
Could some of the older ones of these be TAPER PINS instead of roll pins? If the pin looks solid instead of hollow and split, and if one end appears to the eye to be smaller in diameter than the other, do your pressing from that end. (Or, if it won't budge in one direction, try pressing from the other side.)
