A lesson I learned the hard way is, if hitting the curb seems unavoidable, at last minute in skid, try to turn wheel so tire contacts curb straight on and rides up over it.
The open-style A frame in Saabs tends to buckle when hit hard like that. Far more likely the lower one only, it takes the real hit and once it gives there's no force on the upper one. Lay some cardboard or an old rug down and get your head under for a look.
It's a pretty easy unbolt-bolt in job to replace this, though those are big bolts and nuts.
I remember harvesting one off a car in a junkyard around this time of year, wheel was already off, car up in air, on a sandy bank in the sun though there was snow on the ground.
Or they are pretty reasonable brand new online from sponsors, aftermarket brand.
Look close at tie rod too.
