Notes on 5 speed transmission replacement

Just finished replacing 5 speed transmission in a 91 900 non turbo. The car has 225K on it, and still looks good. While it was out I also did the head gasket, replaced the water pump, hall effect sensor, oil pump seal and o-ring. I put all new gaskets and seals in the transmission.
Couple of things I did wrong I like to pass on:
Clutch - 1/4 soft copper tubing makes a great spacer to hold the pressure plate fingers in, but don't press on the clutch pedal too hard when bleeding - I popped the slave cylinder out too far and tore a seal when it went back together.
Driveshafts - take them both out, not just one like the manual says. Upon re-installing the left one was in the way and I had to pull the whole spindle and A arm off just to get the axle out of the way.
Taper pin on shifter - buy a new one before you start, and use an air chisel with a pin punch to drive out the old one.
I was wondering how much it costs and how long it takes to have a transmission professionally replaced?
I just want to thank everyone who has posted problem solving solutions on this bullitin board - I would run into a problem, come inside, do a search and go back to work with a better idea of how to get it done.
Happy Saabing,
Brian O'Shea
