I think all the switches are the same, but I'd yank from a 16v car if you can. It's a serious hassle to get the switch out & in - I would NOT use a junkyard part unless there is no other option. You do not want to do this job twice.
You'll want to remove the driver's seat and the entire floor console. You'll need a modified 10mm socket or Saab's special tool to loosen the goofy triangular nuts that hold the shifter housing to the floor. I've used a strong, small needlenose plier to do it, but don't count on that working. You'll need to GENTLY twist the shifter housing sideways and remove the three screws on the bottom - earlier cars use a philips screw, later ones a torx. DO NOT mess up the compression section of the shifter shaft. I suspect it's recommended that you disconnect the shifter shaft from the transmission, but I never do that because that is a giant PITA too. You can then remove the cover on the shifter housing and remove the switch - again, earlier cars use a philips screw, later ones a torx to hold it in. Be careful when removing it that you don't lose the small pin that activates the key-in/door-open chime.
In the junkyard, the temptation will be to cut the shifter shaft and take the whole shifter housing home for disassembly. You don't want to do that - you want to be sure all the guts, including the switch, are in good shape. If they are, THEN take the whole thing home - when you get yours apart, you may find you need/want to replace the gearset down there.
When you reassemble, make sure the whole thing is spotless and clean down there, and relubricate the gearset. I've often considered sealing the thing up with RTV to prevent gunk & moisture from getting in, but honestly the original switches lasted 10-15 years, so they're probably engineered pretty well to work in that environment.
