I have three Saabs, and all three run perfectly. Sadly, all three have starting problems.

My daily driver is an '85 Turbo. It fires up immediately when you turn the key, at what sounds like a little bit too high RPMs. Within seconds, though, it will die unless you *constantly move the throttle.* It won't idle at all when cold, but stays running just fine as long as the gas pedal is constantly "revved."

After the engine is good and warm, this problem goes away, but there is definitely something going on even then, because the idle is slow and sort of rough.

If it's any further clue, there are two other strange things: on acceleration it is "catchy" right as the throttle is first pushed in, i.e. it sounds like it wants to stall. But just a bit of a press beyond that and things are fine.

The other weird thing is that there is a point between cold and warm where the car won't fire when I try to start it. It always starts cold, and it always starts when it's warm. But twice (in the two months I've owned it) at a point in between it cranks and cranks but doesn't fire. The fix is to wait a bit until it gets stone cold; then it starts right up.

Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance.
