A couple months a go i posted a BB about my 85 and what to do to prove it's worth. Short story: I wish hit by another driver her insurance wanted to total the car. after the adjuster came I was notified that they would total my car and give me a small sum of money for it. They based there decision not on a database value like NADA and valued it by comparing it to a 86 9000 for sale in the local paper. In CT the insurance company must use a database and this company did not. There were many other things that they did not do but I could right a book. In summary I contacted the state and provided all the info I had on the car documentation, condition- which by the way is very good etc. The state then contacted the insurance co and within days I was contacted offered the correct ammount to fix the car and it was not totalled. In a letter they stated that "they made a mistake in their judement of value" and after viewing all the documentation I provided on the car agreed with my position. I was really lucky and I had alot of help from the Saab community, Special thanks to Charles River Saab and Linnea whose input was invaluable. I also am excited to report that Hemmings Motor News Feb issue has an article on SCD 07 with many great photos including one of my car with a brief write up. Again thanks to all those that helped save my 85 SPG.
