I did mine last week. If you want a clean job here is what I recommend. The access hole on the side of the shifter housing is the flat area with a small metal plug in it. I took a center punch and put a dent in the very center. Take a small drill bit. 1/16" or so and drill in the center. You will go through the plug so be careful not to push too hard. Once you get a pilot hole through get the next size up and drill through. What you want to do is place a very small screw #4 or #6 in the drilled hole. Once you do this you can just pull the plug out very easily. This will keep metal shavings from getting all over. Once that is done take a punch and push in a small pin which will free up the lock cylinder to be removed. Bentley says that you have to put the key in a 10-11 O’clock position and it will pull right out. I know you might not be able to do this because you broke your key but if the cylinder will turn before pushing in the pin go for it. I will make it easier. Once removed I boiled it in water as someone recommend. Still was dirty. Then soaked it in carb cleaner overnight in a small jar. Then hit it with air. OK I am overdoing it but there was all kinds of dirt and coke-cola in there. I relubed with powdered graphite only. Works great. Oh and I removed the half moon lockout thing too. It was not needed.
