Possibly. But why would you? Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Fri, 11 Jan 2008 06:27:36 In Reply to: Are new tranny's still avalable from Saab?, GaryG, Thu, 10 Jan 2008 23:32:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
There is no good reason to buy a new transmission from Saab, not unless you have a problem with having too much money.
Your best bet is a quality rebuilt transmission from a reputable supplier. Eriksson Industries (http://www.erikssonindustries.com) provides high quality rebuilt transmissions. And the price will be a lot less than from Saab. And even from Saab, there is no guarantee that you're getting a 'new' transmission.
Having gotten transmissions rebuilt by shops, I won't go that way again. Places like Eriksson do nothing but rebuild transmissions, and they specialize in a select few, so they know all the ins and outs. And the tranny you buy will have been dyno tested. All your local shop needs to do is uncrate the new one, and swap it out for the old one.
No, I don't work for Eriksson, nor do I get any recompense from them. But there is nothing to fear from a quality rebuild.
