NON-DISTRIBUTOR HALL SENSOR ON CRANK?

I have been told my NO SPARK problem could be the HALL sensor which is somewhere on the firewall side of the engine. I have tried to visually see this area BUT I see NOTHING that has a wiring terminal as there are belts pulleys ETC blocking my view. Can the hall sensor be SEEN w/o removing the engine? If I could see it WHAT would it look like> Has anyone ever have to replace this area HAKLL sensor? Why didn't they put it on the distributor on my 94 Saab convertible non-turbo.Used to get intermitted spark See earlier New battery now no spark and STILL no spark description of problem and relies HELP PLEASE The coil is GOOD, THE black ignition box on L fender is GOOD NOSPAK from coil so distributor should not be the issue?
