88 & 93 Turbo Verts - electronics differences?

Ive got fairly trashed 88 turbo vert, that I am have been taking some parts from here and there for my 93. Im wondering what, if anything, is usable in the way of the engine electronics, along with some of the mechanical parts.
Unfortunately, as I am still waiting for my manual, im not even completely certain what there are in the way of electronics, black boxes, which can be removed. I definitely would like to remove anything in the way of the electronics though before getting rid of the 88
What about the Distributor, and the turbo itself?
I have no idea whats wrong with the 88 other than "they could not get it to pass smog". I can see they tried a new cat, and it looks like a new dizzy as well. The rubber coupling which connects to the inlet of the throttle body is missing, other than that the engine looks intact.
The '88 is a automatic, while the '93 is a 5 speed. So I am guessing the cruise control computer is out of the question.
Any advice would be appreciated.
