There's kind of an upper panel that covers shifter and ignition switch, and a lower section.
After prying off shifter boot and removing those two screws, you lift that panel up at its front edge, and rear edge tucks into lower part of console; pull that forward and out. Now fold your boot and tuck it down the inside of the tin it attaches to and lift that panel off shifter. (Oh, and unplug wires to switch for interior lights.) That will reveal even more attaching screws - - two just forward of shifter and another just behind lock cylinder.
