This is a repost (sort of) I have had LOTS of great help in diagnosing my intermittent spark problem.BUT I was also replacing the top on the same car (94 900 classicconvertible and that kept me off the ignition problem. Well I attempted to localize the problem tothe Hall sensor at the crank. But I had no voltage coming from the crank area at the 3 prong male part of the connector, BUT had battery voltage at the connector on the female part (you know the connect by the oil filter. I had done a 24 pin and 20 pin voltage check on the EZK plug and a 4 and 10 pin check also that had no reading. Someone had suggested I do so freezing of the parts when the car stopped, BUT it had not started in 8 days so that did not happen. BUT it was sooo cold outside I decided to open the garage door, turn off the heat, AND YES the car started second try. It was outside over night and started up. It's now back insideto warm it to see if I can freeze the part thats apparently too warm tostart correctly. Counld the warm/cold effect the Hall sensor? There is a black and siver part just opposite the ignition control box EZK that has Bosch on it, but I don't know what it is and no one has suggested it could be the problem. Will check today to see if my Bentley manual has arrived at Hastings. Thanks to all. When I get this problem fixed I will tell everyone what it was, but I'm hoping beyond hope it's not the Hall sensor behind the crank pulley.
