thats news to me, i been running with a new slave and old fluid in it for about a year now, no leaks to report,
just a note:
i blew my hydraulic hose running from master to slave,i bled the line for no reason (other than the thought of needing new fluid)
after the hose blew i was left on the side of the road learning how to shift with out a clutch (its very possible, just to let you know now if you find this line has went out, with out the clutch to get rolling,
with the car off and in 1st gear turn the ignition on, the car will start to jump forward, hit the gas & the car will start running in first gear,
to get to the next gears rolling about 10, 15 mph take the car out of gear, tap the gas so the rpm`s run up to 2500 then hold the stick to the start of 2ed, let the motor rpms drop normal letting the gears grind softly untill it opens up for 2ed to be engaged, (when it happens the car will shift to 2ed smooth as silk) for 3rd get the car up to 45mph take it out of gear and repeat, same with the rest of the gears.
only problem is if you stop, the car needes to be restarted 1st gear to get rolling.
you might not need this info if you replaced that hose, if not theres a good chance it will blow with the new fluid & its pressure,
if your running with a hose thats never been replaced its probley a good time to replace it.
the hydraulic hose will blow right where the rubber meets the metal.
