a continued issue with my 900 turbo project (of about 7 years now) is that i get large plumes of oil smoke (thick blue and white clouds) after the engine has wramed up. and only at idle. ie:no smoke at cold start. no smoke under load (hard driving or cruising).
compression checked out for all cylndrs. after that fact i am told that a compression check will not always reveal bad oil control rings. correct? though if this were the case it should be smoking all the time. correct?
I am still very specticle of the suggested "turbo seal failure" because it was overhauled shortly after my original post (eratic smoking... sept 2007). replaced with the SD 360 seal (thanks gary!) and the problem presists.
Now. after doing an oil change this weekend i noticed that milky scuz on the dip stick after the oil had been drained. head gasket failure!?! imagine that. but why only after it has warmed does it start bruning oil and coolant?
removing the cyl head might confirm my leaking valve seals suspicion too. planning a complete engine overhaul this summer (rings, bearings, seals gaskets, etc.) in hopes of building a "bullet proof motor".
any other thoughts and suggestions on this matter? thanks yall. keep real.
