Has anybody ever used one of the Saabsite's rebuilt transmissions? Their warranty is equivalent to the Eriksson tranny, and are "only" $1700 from the Saabsite, versus $2150 for Eriksson's product. I am also considering having a local Indy rebuilt the junkyard unit I've got now.

Part of me just wants to toss the 1988 junkyard unit (166,000 miles) into the car and cross my fingers. I had a 1984 and a 1986 Saab a few years ago and both transmissions were fine through about 210,000 miles when I sold them. I also keep thinking about the "million mile" Saab we were discussing last summer -- man oh man, am I ever cheap! Anyway, the other part of me doesn't want to do this job over. And I know my other half (wife) would go bonkers if I got done with this project and the tranny failed immediately afterwards!



Anybody want to share their experiences.
