I did this job about two years ago due to a crumbling bushing problem on the passenger-side upper arm.

Once I was into the process, I was getting pretty frustrated and huffy, thinking I was going to have to pull the motor because I couldn't figure out how to extract the arm.

I had to calm down and go slow and steady.

I don't remember the precise steps but some general suggestions:

The engine needs to be jacked up a little, watch your shift link for undue strain. The mount strut on that side needs to come out when after the engine mount is clear to rise. I don't think I loosened the front mount, maybe I should have.

Careful about straining the inner CV boot, as mentioned above. I think I just loosened the clamp and helped ease the tripod out as it needed when the engine lifting began with the floor jack, though I don't remember the tripod coming out so far that it was free of the the cup.

I compressed and removed the spring, then loosened the arm mounts, marked the shims for easy re-installation. Then carefully removed the arm, having to turn it ninety degrees to extract it into the engine compartment from the wheel-well. That ninety-degree turn was very hard to figure out and I felt very stupid after solving it. Replacement was the logical reverse of everything to that point.

It wasn't that hard, I was relieved to not yank the motor.
