If you pull back the gray felt liner of the trunk you will see a long tube tha likely still has a wing nut at the end of it. The rear part of the side spoiler is attached by a long (6-inch) threaded wire. This tends to rust out inside the tube and break. For me it was junkyard time for the replacement part. You will have to clean out the rusted inside of the tube as well. To clean out the tube, I pulled out as much of the old wire as I could from inside the trunk, the cut a long piece of coat hanger into an electric drill and used that to "roto-rooter" the rust out of the tube, followed by shooting rustoleum through the tube.
You may be able to figure out how to attach a wire to the stub still attached to the spoiler, but it is going to be tough to get the appropriate tension on a self engineered solution. Best thing is to find a replacement part at the bone yard or on Fleabay.
