we are talking mint here for this price and still Posted by vvack0matic [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: What $$ (?) - '92 Convertible 900S w/ 187K, stephent, Mon, 24 Mar 2008 20:09:21 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
its way to high, 2,800 would be a good price if the car was dang near mint with a turbo, but seeing it a 900s
1500 would be my bid for it MINT, if the car has rust and/or a warn top, any dents, drips oil at all 1100
(checking on the drips, take the car for a test drive, pull into some place to get coffee or what ever (make sure to note the parking spot before u pull in (nice and clean)
with the car off for 5 minutes will be all it needs to tell you just how bad (if any) the motor or rack drips.
upon backing up if you see a few fresh drips its a 1100 if you see none 1500 (make sure not to run a.c. before this test)
another test you can do.
with the car idling for 2 minutes (after its at or was recently at operating temps) stand by the muffler, make sure to have a co-driver with you and have them do a short punch to the gas pedal in getting the rmps to 3000 in a single fast hit.
while looking at the tail pipe if you witness any puff of smoke 1100 buxs
if you see smoke and drips 900 buxs heck... i`d walk away
if the transmission makes any kind of noise when the car has reached operating temps.. run
