OK, so here is the deal:
1993 sedan with a turbo transplant, 148k. PO (owner #2)says AC never worked. I am trying to fix it.
AC switch turns on left side rad fan, not right side fan, not AC compressor clutch. I searched this board, and it sounded like the anti-frost/freeze switch was stuck open. I pulled anti-frost switch, tested OK, bypassed switch just in case, no luck. Then I tested evaporator switch and coolant switch... all OK, I could not get the compressor or fan to work even when each switch was bypassed.
Now I thought about the AC relay, swapped it with a known working one, no luck. Tested the compressor and right rad fan by "jumping" the relay slot 30 (12+ volts) to slot 87 & seperately to 87B... compressor and rad fan each ran with respective slots jumped to pin 30. I tested pin 86, it gets 12+ when AC control switch is on, and 0 volts when off.
So now I wonder, what could be causing the relay not to activate with the switched power (pin 86) and constant power (pin 30) are working? And then I wondered if the orginal 1993 NON-turbo wiring could be interfering with the now turbo wiring... after all the the non-turbos and turbo cars are different in Bently's.
Any help is appreciated.
