Well! It was low on Freon, so I add more with a gauge and a can of "Arctic Chill" brand Freon. The car was converted before I purchased it, a few months ago. I recharged it to the correct pressure and notice a little oil leaking from what seems to be an over-charge spring release valve on the compressor itself. I tapped lightly on this valve and it stopped the leaking. It was a very slow leak at that. I had to jump twelve volts directly to the compressor so it would take the Freon. After charging, I checked the low pressure switch for 12v and it was good. Still no 12v at the compressor, but fan was running. Then I wiggled the relay and the compressor started running. Then I took the relay housing off to verify that the relay worked, and it did. Checked for AC inside the car and it was extra cold from using the Arctic Chill brand. Didn't run long enough to see if anti-frost switch would cycle on/off. Pressing the on/off button on the dash only cut the fan off. Took car for a ride and noticed that it was still very cold. Pull to the shoulder of highway and opened the hood and saw that the AC was still engaged. So I pulled the relay out to shut the compressor off. I did check on the Swedish Wrench Site for diagram and found it to be helpful. So I'm thinking relay is stuck or it has something to do with the anti-frost switch. I wanted to swap the, known to be working, 91/900s relay to the 92/900 turbo that I'm working on to see if the relay is at fault, but their two different type's. My question is, "Has anybody experienced this problem"? I wonder if the internal part of the dash switch is also at fault and maybe only releasing part of the contacts inside? Whats the easiest way to remove the dash switch?
