you need to pay attention to that- it may just fall off one day.

the cracked boots and loose feel in driving are worn balljoints, cheap and easy to replace, but you only need the spacer deal under the upper arm to do this (along with a balljoint splitter fork type deal). $15 a piece, maintanence item on these saabs.

the low2er shock bushing on the one that 'lightend up' is attached to the lower arm, if you have stripped the thread on the arm, or sheared the whole deal, you need to replace the arm-$60 or so, last time i looked.

i have to fully disagree with vvack on this one, for once.
i have never had to use a spring compressor on these cars, except when my spacer under upper arm has fallen out (the other day, for instance). if you get the spacer in right, you are good, period. you can do everything on the suspension without a compressor.
i say that with conviction, because i speak from experience.
sorry, don't mean to ruffle any feathers, but i am the kind of guy that hates to do extra work, so i don't. just block suspension before you jack it, then you can play with whatever you want, and at most use a screwdriver to align bolt holes for balljoints, that's it.

check your axle nut in a few weeks, just to be sure it is still tight. the torque wrench should have done something when it got to torque.
i used the long bar, 'stand on it' method, so no torque settings for me.

sounds like you will be fine-good to do the suspension before the engine (thats my method, also)-safetey 1st!
