Flat power curve-just fishing for ideas... Posted by nicknick [Email] ![]() ![]() |
so, dropped the engine/trans/mitsu from '92t in my '88t. before the swap, the '92t was a strong puller, squeaking the tires in 2nd and sometimes 3rd.
before the swap i did the HG, and obviously had to re-time the chain. tensioner is at about 10mm extension, so i know the chain is worn, but still usable. first time around i set the chain with 15 rollers between marks, then went back and reset at 16 between rollers-thus leaving the intake cam a little on the side of the intake manifold. no difference to performance(?).
couple of things;
Apc is working-showing boost 3/4 yellow now, 1/2 yellow before plugging the apc in.
timing is 16btdc, vac module holds vac and does move. Have a 010 dizzy in there.
i don't like the look of the exhaust on this car-welded up all the way, so i can't swap the cat to remove that from the equation.
fuel filter is proving to be very hard to remove, and i don't currently have a method of testing fuel pressure (i'll work on that)
disconnecting amm throws CEL, and engine then runs rough, plugging back in smooths engine back out again.
Performance feels just fine up to about 3k rpm, then just stays flat from there up. doesn't want to 'breath' is the best way to describe it.
any thoughts welcome!
