I have been researching the AutoZone website as a resource for parts for all of my vintage Saabs, since many of the parts are getting hard to find, and I have been surprised by what parts they say are available.
Today I found that they offer a rebuild for the automatic transmission (a 1979 900 GLE in my case), and they offer a 3 YEAR warranty which is 2 YEARS longer than anything Saab or Erikkson Industries has offered. According to their website, "Etx Transmissions" is the name of their transmission work. Their cost is $2346.99.
Has anyone looked into this before? Have any of you used "Etx Transmissions" before? It is not cheap, but I am wondering if the end product might be a long lasting, very durable transmission :-) Any thoughts on this?
