certainly sounds like a boot has popped off, happenened to me a few times.
in fact I carry a tiny ring spanner on my keyring because of this that fits the hoseclamp on the throttle body. Typical scenario is a nice day, open road, going uphill and flooring the throttle, maximum boost and POP! off it comes, since using the spanner instead of a screwdriver its been ok I think because I got it on tighter...good luck!
