well got around to checking my fuel pressure or lack of, I was having the long hard starts. it seems (for the second time) the check valve will not hold residual pressure. I took it out shot it with some cleaner poked it to confirm spring movement. blew in thru both ways, checks out OK? put it back together run the pump..... hmmm lose all pressure within an hour. ran the pump again this time I clamped the fuel return....hour later no pressure.
took the damn check valve out again, cleaned, poked and banged it on the ground. placed all back on - ran the pump... this time I clamped the return line, very odd here, only could build up to 45psi! no more! no leaks in the system anywhere. So I concluded I have both a faulty check valve(less than 2 yrs old) AND a weak pump!
Its not over yet.... i take the pump out of the tank, according to Bentley the damn thing was placed in the wrong orientation by 90 degrees! Thanks PO! Theres more..... I test the pre-pump.....DEAD!
LOVE/HATE relationship.
