But I've found that to get it there on a car that's done in excess of 100,000 miles may take replacement of all rubber bits downstream from the throttle body. Especially the notoriously crumbly rubber grommets in the inlet manifold. Did that to one of my long lost 900ts, and got almost another 1/4" out of the white zone, down to the peg.
But go over every vacuum hose, the rubber grommets, plastic "tees", brake booster hose (and the grommet/valve on the booster), EVAP (charcoal) canister valve and solenoid (if equipped) and even the hose to the boost gauge, if all else fails.
If it's not metal, and it's past the throttle body, it's suspect, no matter what it is connected to.
