I drilled mine out and screwed in a brass gas-line barbed fitting when I broke it off while replacing the fan switch...
I have a plasitc/aluminum radiator, so I drilled out the plastic where the nipple WAS with a bit that was just smaller than the brass fitting. THen I blow torched the fitting to heat it, and quickly and carefully pressed it in while turning it to both make the plastic make threads for the fitting but not punch a hole in it.
Two years later, it still works great.
GOOD LUCK, and yah, get this fixed.
