To amplify on nicknick's comments - you're main pulley (aka 'harmonic balancer') has failed. The pulley is two pieces, with an inner and outer metal pulleys connected by rubber. The rubber damps out vibration. The rubber also fails over time.
You need to replace this ASAP, if not sooner. The pulley can start to walk backwards and start grinding away the oil pump. It can also just fly apart, and you'll lose your belts - no alternator, no power steering, and no water pump. The car will be undriveable (without incurring fatal engine damage).
A new pulley is about $125 for the part. Labor is a bit of a pain due to access. Replace the belts while you're at it, unless they're quite new.
To emphasize, don't wait on this. Don't plan any trips until it's fixed.
