I had some issues two winters ago where my speedo would skip and read way faster on really cold mornings - I lubed the cable behind the dash and that took care of that problem.

This is a replacement speedo; The person who gave it to me had removed the needle and put it back in the wrong place - I reattached it correctly (there is a mark on the instrument face where I thought it was supposed to be aligned - and it does seem pretty accurate below 35 mph.

I'm planning to have the car's original speedo rebuilt as it's odometer failed.

I need to do some serious checking of my odometer against reference points, but I've been calculated reasonable mileage (~26 mpg mixed driving) over the past few years.

Hmmm - I'll post back when I check my odometer.

Sorry for being "that guy" driving too slow! ;)
