easily enough using a floor jack and a helper (I did it by myself, but it would be easier with another set of hands). Slide the tranny across the floor to the back of your car. Lift up the smaller end, slide the jack under it, and shift it around until you find the center of gravity.
Cover the edge of your trunk with cardboard to protect it.
Use one hand to jack and the other to keep it balanced until you are at the height of the trunk, rotate it around, slide one end in, and there you go.
Once at the dump, reposition the cardboard. Lift one end, and pivot the tranny on the edge of the trunk, and flip it out onto the ground. Drive away.
