You hit the nail on the head with your statement/confession.
When the fuel mixture is set correctly, the injectors are balanced to the point where they won't open until the lower pressure (vacuum) happens in the intake manifold during the intake stroke.
What you can do is to lift the air door in intake box when you have the fuel pump running, that way you force a rich condition and the injectors would spray.
That is how you quickly test them by pulling all 4 out of the intake, jump the fuel pump, stick a fuel mix adjust Allen wrench into the hole, twist slightly and lift air door and look at the spray pattern from all 4 at the same time.
