Nice Saab!
I had 2 separate incidents last week where I was asked if we garage ours (1993 900s) all winter (people surprised by it's condition). Of course we don't... it's our only car and it would be insulted if it didn't get to plow through snowbanks...
The c900s just seem to last well... we're starting to get a little rust, but all the Hondas + American cars half it's age around here are in worse shape... I think the secret is Saab factory paint, because the few spots that are getting a little rust were repainted...
Also, re all the insurance talk, for us, a secret benefit of the 900s is low insurance. To our insurance company, the car is practically worthless (a few $k tops). But, it rates 4 out of 5 stars for safety in their system (better than most new cars) and low for theft as well. So our insurance rate is much lower than driving a newer Saab (more $$ to insure for value) or an old unsafe car like a Neon or Honda (more $$ to insure medical risk and theft)...
That said, the money we save in insurance goes into repairs... you keep a Saab because you love to drive them!
James...
