entire car vibrates

I have an 89' 900 S w/ 165k. The entire car vibrates with the engine. I figured it had to be engine mounts so i replaced all 3 a few weeks ago (the driver's side was not fun).
It still vibrates. It happens while idling in the driveway in neutral and at all speeds gears etc. The engine is not bucking around wildly, all four cylinders are firing. It just seems like either normal engine vibration is being transfered to the car somehow or somethings off balance in the engine.
It looks like the distributer was replaced at some point with a used one. I've checked the timing-- at TDC the notches on the cam shaft line up perfectly with the corresponding mark. I've replaced two suspect lifters.
The vibration is like a buzz. You can feel it if you touch the fender, wheels, sitting in the car, on the pedals etc. What the heck? I thought for sure the new mounts would fix it but no luck.
Any ideas? I'm actually considering dropping a different engine in. This one has a few oil leaks anyway. But maybe it's something more simple?
Thanks a lot.
