Just pulled a filler neck at junkyard Saturday.

There's a big hose to fuel tank, a couple smaller ones, the drain hose, and a vent hose from above. I disconnected all the others, then pulled the drain hose out of the floor, passed it thru the trunk sidewall metal, then twisted the filler neck (after door removed, and the four torx screws into body work) 90 degrees to rear, then I pulled the rubber hose to the drain tube off the drain nipple on the filler neck.
THEN turned filler neck to 180 degrees, totally upside down, and worked top out at bottom first, then the drain nipple came out thru a little scallop cut in the body sheet metal at top of the opening. It wasn't easy at all, took a little pressure. I can see how the people who sold one on ebay (a recent post) broke the nipple getting it out.
And the thing calls for a foam gasket on reinstalling, maybe use 3M trim mount tape to make a new one.
