Hi,
I am from Sofia, Bulgaria and own a 1993 900 convertible. All of a sudden my beloved clasic 1993 900 Ep convertible developed the following problem. When I try to start it in the normal way, without touching the gas pedal, the engine fires briefly then stalls. After that I have to floor the pedal and turn crank the engine for some time for it to start-onece it does the revs go to 2000 and over for some time and then go down to normal, actually a bit higher then before. There is a smell of petrol while starting and the exaust has become black - before it had the proper rust colour. The fuel consumption has gone up significantly. By the way it strats more normaly when cold then when hot. Yesterday it fired normaly when cold but then it was choking when I was acellerating until it became hot and then again the starting problem. So far no help from the service shop here - they say the ECU unit is not showing any errors and there is no sign of any vaccum pipe being damaged so that air is sucked in. They are wondering if it could be the temperature sensor or the oxygen sensor. Problem is they are not sure and I do not know what part to search for. Please help with any ideas about what could be wrong-please reply directly to vladobg then the add sign then mtel.net
