If the tool kit is complete, there should be a flexible square tool that you can plug into the back of the motor and manually crank the seat forward.
It is possible that the seat slide tracks have debris in them and the seat is simply stuck in place. Does the motor click when you activate the switch? Can you feel any shocks from the motor like it is trying to do anything? If so, you should be able to free it up without changing the motor. The next check is to see if the motor is getting power.
