apart from all the obvious changes which many posters can explain to you the one I found most intriguing was the switch in the headlamp wiper assembly from left to right. In later models years with sloped headlamps the dominant "swipe" is from the inside to the outside so that snow or debris is always moved outside of the vehicle and away from the headlamp. In earlier models such as my snubnose 86 the dominant "swipe" is from the outside to the inside so that any debris, snow etc has the potential to be pushed inward to the rad and also back onto the headlamp. It took awhile for the engineers to figure this basic problem out and I am assuming they changed the setup as a response to a basic problem in design and safety. Most headlamps on any car that has them these days follow the later setup. Anyway to make short story long - when I went to grab a headlamp wiper motor from the junk yard - it dawned on me that that I would need a left fitting motor from a later year model to replace my right headlamp motor. :) all this came to me as as I sat there in the junk yard contemplating swedish engineering whimsy
