...happy one for my better half.

The salvage yard came by this morning to haul away the two parts cars in the yard. One of which was my first '94 Comm Ed. I stripped everything off it and it was basically just a shell but I was still sad to see it go. I didn't think it would bother me but as it was being dragged up on the flatbed, I got a little melancholy. I was originally going to lop off the back half and make a matching trailer for my good CE, but life doesn't allow me time to do that right now, and my wife got tired of looking at the two sad-looking hulks in the yard (three if you count me when I'm wrenching on them).

The flatbed driver said; "Someday you'll be sad you got rid of this". My reply; "more than you know".

Sadly, with the price of metal where it is right now, everything is going directly to the crusher. Parts cars are getting harder and harder to find. The guy was upset that there was no catalytic converters in either car, as the Saab converters with their high platinum content fetch about $240 apiece. Too bad I found that out after I tossed the last of them in the trash weeks ago.
