I think that after all is said and done.... the time and effort to split both of the lumps and move the transmission over to the 1992 2.1 engine will be less work and uncertainty. also forward going having to deal with the nuances of the "blended" setup would offset any gains. Besides the 2.1 does have a little more umph, and with the auto box that actually does make relatively good combination. Parts involved would only add the gasket and the sealant. You can pull the 2.0, keep it on the lift setting it loosely on a box or directly on the floor, but a box makes it easier to do all of the bolts, undo all of the bolts and keep them straight left side to right side, they are different. a buddy has a block of wook that he drilled holes into in the relative locations and puts the bolts there. lift the engine off and set it somewhere else. Do the same operation with the 2.1 and then set the 2.1 on the autobox from the 2.0 (after cleaning the mating surfaces and putting the gasket and sealant on the trans side) lower the 2.1 onto the transmission and bolt them together. all other work, save any additional work caused by doing the conversion, is the same either way. Do the bushings, look at all of the bits and replace now as it's much easier.
Not as big an adventure, but if you want adventure do the five speed upgrade!
