Why do my ABS style brakes have trouble in the heat?

1990 SPG, new bomb, brakes work great usually. But when really hot (95+ degrees in traffic today) the ABS/Brake Fliud lights come on. I can hear the pump running, but the brake fluid is too high, like when the system is unpressurized.
After I pull over and open the hood with the engine off for a while, vola! Everything on the brake system works perfectly.
Today, in addition to the anti-lock and brake fluid light, the SRS light started flashing (about 5-10 minutes after the two brake system lights went on). Of course the SRS light won't resent on its own now.
TIA,
~Junkie
