The ABS and Brake Fluid lights on mean that the ABS pressure is low - real low - less than 100 bar. That explains why the ABS pump is running - it comes on at pressures less than 140 bar, and 100 bar counts. With no ABS pressure, you'll get no brake boost, and the stopping distances go way out. Unless there's a truck closer....

It might be the ABS pump or the MC. For the pump, if the impellor broke off, the pump motor will spin and spin, but nothing gets pumped. That would explain everything.

However, the MC uses the ABS pressure to provide boost, and there is an assist valve there. If that valve sticks open, it'll just let all that pressure go. Now, the ABS pump is like a jacuzzi pump, circulating brake fluid around and around.

Let the car sit for a few hours, and see where the brake fluid level is in the reservoir. It should be above the FULL line. Start the car - does the level drop any at all? How does the ABS pump sound - does it sound like it is running faster than normal (higher pitch)? If the level doesn't drop at all and the pump seems to be running at a higher pitch, then I'd say the pump impellor fell off. It's not a pump, just a noisemaker. This is a low probability, but easy to test.

However, if the pump sounds like it is pumping (normal sound) and the fluid level drops at least a bit, then the pump is doing something. At a minimum, I'd re-bleed the lines. Maybe, just maybe, you got a big air bubble stuck. But that isn't it, then I'd have to suspect that some grit got in during the recent work and stuck the valve open.
