Fuel system on a 92 900S convertable

I am trying to solve why this newly purchased 1992 900s non turbo won't run. I put on a replacement FPR, a junk yard pump(seems new with replacement pump in housing in good condtion) and it started and ran for about 40 seconds when I first hooked it all up. Once I stepped on the gas it died. It cranks fine, almost starts occasionally, and up in the engine bay I hear a loud buzzing. I fig this is the relay waiting to get signal that the pressure it right. etc.
Btw I hear no pump sound in the tank.
Does this car have two pumps?
Which part of the relay do I jump to test if the pump works proving that it's the relay that's bad?
What else should I try?
I'm trying to avoid taking the pump assembly back out of the tank, because I'm afraid of breaking the fuel line connectors like I did on my 9-5. (what a nightmare!)
Any help would be great, pictures a plus!
Thanks in advance!
