Changed my valve cover

and it sealed correctly the first try!!! So far... Drove it around all day yesterday and not a single drop.
I examined my timing chain, camshafts, etc. I know my father took excessive care of this car, but... The cams are perfect. It looks like the inside of a 25,000 mile car, not a 225,000 mile car. My timing chain it excellent. I checked for excessive slack, it seemed slack free. Also it seemed like no wear on the chain too. How is easiest to know when it needs a replacement, which I now needs to be done with the engine pulled? It makes no noise. The rubber timing chain retainer in the valve cover was flexible too, so I didn't need to replace that.
Monday is replace the crank/oil pump seal day. Not looking forward to that. I am going to go by townsend's tip on packing the pump with vasoline. I'm also going to crank it over without the coil wire hooked up for 10 seconds to prime it too. I'm nervous about the pump going back in right. I have confidence in doing it, but it's unfamiliar territory. Wish me luck.
