Replacing '95 convertible top

Does anyone have an easy solution to replacing the top of my '95 Saab convertible? My top, which is in nearly perfect condition, has a bonded window, which some vandal smashed last week. Body shops say the whole top must be replaced, which is not only expensive but seems so wasteful. Anyone know of a fix to save my current top and replace the bonded window? Thanks.
