Since the knock sensor is a piezoelectric sensor (it changes vibrations of a certain frequency into an electric signal) you need to be sure that the mounting surface on the top of the head is free of corrosion and smooth. Torque the bolt to the right spec too. I've had LH cars kick on the CEL because of a knock sensor code and the sensor is fine, just that the mounting point got a little too dirty and it interfered with the harmonics.
I still love checking knock sensors- tap on the head with a hammer or mallet (gently, of course) and listen for the spark timing to retard.
And yeah, I'd change the oxygen sensor post haste. It's dead, but I don't know if your name is Jim or not.
