Replaced passenger fan with Spal fan

The passenger side fan on my '86 900S violently self-destructed recently. All of the C900s have disappeared from local junkyards and an OEM replacement was priced out of sight.
I wound up using a generic Spal replacement. That brand was recommended by someone here on the C900 board, and it's a nice piece -- high quality, European manufacture (Italy).
This is an 11" "pull" fan, 1390 CFM, cost was about $100 plus shipping at the-fan-man.com. Mounting was straightforward using a steel strip cut into 2 suitable length pieces and drilling holes as needed. (This was sourced at a local Llowes for a few bucks.)
It's easiest to mount the fan with the radiator out of the car.
The main trick is that the fan needs to be mounted as high up and to the edge of the radiator as possible in order to clear the front engine mount.
Here are photos:

The photo of the fan mounted to the radiator shows my second attempt. (In the first it was centered and way too far down.) The radiator could not be mounted back in the car as shown, the fan had to be moved as far as possible to the right. Third time was the charm, and everything dropped into place. The original fan's electrical connector was spliced in.
The Spal fan works great, engine stays nice and cool and the A/C is nice and cold. I was a little concerned about current draw with this heavy-duty fan but there have been no problems.
