If you look at the standalone SRS socket on a C900 or 9000, it has four wire connections, one at each far corner of the connector. This was designed to work ONLY with their SRS tester. Tech 2 was not the first diagnostic tool Saab had. Previous to that was ISAT (Integrated SAab Tester). ISAT could talk to some systems: LH/Lucas; DI & DI/APC; power seats; and some other systems. It did not talk to the SRS system at all.
The bulletin shows how to re-wire your 9000s SRS socket so that you can use the later Tech 2 tool, which has all the right software and electrical connections. Alternately, you can make an adapter jumper (which is what I did) that does the conversion. I think also, that the SRS connector is female, and the ISAT/Tech 2 connector is also female, so an adapter needs to change the gender of the connection.
It is really not important on a C900, unless you are having SRS problems. A shop should already have a jumper to test an SRS system with the Tech 2. If not, they should have the bulletin.
