Well it has been leaking for a few years, but gradually worse up until yesterday when it was just too aggrivating to see the big spots all over the driveway.
I tried the magical Bars brand stop leak which claims to stop the leak in 200 miles, not even close. Tried thicker oil(10W30) not much difference. So I bought the oil pump housing O-ring, and crank seal. I was told if I am replacing the crank seal, just go ahead and replace the pump housing O-ring. Glad I did. It hardened into plastic, and it was cracked in 4 places. I don't think the crank seal was leaking at all. I still replaced it anyways. I had my pump housing out so I replaced the crank seal with a flat piece of wood and it worked perfectly. The hardest part of this whole thing was cracking the crank bolt loose(heck of a time holding the flywheel), and aligning the tab for the oil pump. Otherwise it was not too bad. It took me 2 hours start to finish. I sprayed the engine down with degreaser and now I'll keep an eye out for any other leaks.
